One characteristic of divine eros that makes it a more complete expression of yourself is that you lose control. In a sexual encounter, there is a sense of surrender, of release, throughout the whole interaction, not only during orgasm. The absence of control, the release and surrender, is present all the way from the beginning. The energy of divine eros springs forth from the eternity and vastness of what we are, and the focus doesn’t have to be only in one place or on one person. All of manifestation is created, instant by instant, by this force. When we tap into it and liberate it from the merely instinctual realm, we have the opportunity to be with another person in a way that expresses that force as the ecstasy of union. We become an external expression of an internal reality. The erotic is divine. Divine eros is your birthright and it was present in its purity upon your entrance into this world. It was all there, coemergent—your naked body and the intense, bursting energetic life force of the divine.
